In addition, she has provided tax planning and preparation for these clients, as well as other individuals. Ms. Swearingen's emphasis is in litigation support services at Brodshatzer, Wallace, Spoon & Yip. Her responsibilities include the preparation and review of business valuations, the calculation and review of economic losses for business damage litigation, and preparation of accounting analyses for various types of litigation. In regards to marital dissolution matters Ms. Swearingen prepares business valuations, performs asset tracings for separate versus community property issues, and calculates income for support purposes. In addition, she assists in the preparation of document production requests, interrogatories, declarations, and questions for deposition and trial examination. The types of cases in which Ms. Swearingen has been involved or provided forensic accounting expertise are marital dissolution, eminent domain, antitrust litigation/predatory pricing, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, business interruption, charitable contribution valuation, class action cases, and construction cost disputes. Ms. Swearingen graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and she is certified as a public accountant in the State of California. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. She is accredited in business valuation (ABV) by the AICPA.
