A cum laude graduate of San Diego State University's School of Business, Ms. Spoon received a bachelor's degree in Accounting and a master's of Business Administration in Finance. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of California. Manufacturing, wholesale, retail and not-for-profit organizations are industries in which Ms. Spoon has focused her accounting and auditing experience. Ms. Spoon's specific areas of emphasis are automated systems design, inventory, overhead allocation procedures, forecasts and projections. Her private industry background includes controllership experience with responsibility for financial reporting, payroll, automated systems design, internal control system design, and forecasting of short- and long-term business plans. In the litigation field, Ms. Spoon specializes in damage analysis for cases involving personal injury, wrongful death, wrongful termination, business losses, business valuation and accounting matters. She has testified as an expert witness for actions in the superior and federal courts, and she also frequently provides assistance in the preparation and analysis of settlement proposals. In addition, Ms. Spoon has been a court-appointed special master. She has authored several articles and conducted original research in the area of employment litigation.
She is also a frequent speaker on topics involving litigation, as well as the use of economic experts and understanding financial statements.
