For over 10 years, Cheryl has helped private early-stage and closely-held companies in many industries determine the value of their equity. Cheryl has valued businesses and partnerships for estate and gift tax purposes, marital dissolutions, corporate and partnership buy-outs, financial reporting (stock-based compensation), mergers & acquisitions, and private placements. Cheryl has consulted with entrepreneurs on valuing early-stage companies and financial projections. Cheryl has conducted seminars on various valuation topics, and has served as an expert witness. Ms. Bostater spent four years with broker/dealers, filing micro-capitalization public offerings with the SEC, and as an equity analyst issuing buy/sell recommendations on hi-tech and telecommunications stocks. She been awarded an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) designation in Business Valuation by the American Society of Appraisers, and has been awarded a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation by the CFA Institute. In addition, she earned an MBA in Finance, top 10% of class, from Loyola Marymount University. Cheryl earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, and began her career as a digital circuit designer for Xerox. Her engineering background enables her to understand the technical jargon and concepts that are important to hi-tech clients. She currently serves on the board of the Association for Corporate Growth and the Rolling Hills Elementary PTA., where her two children attend school.
