The accounting firm of Brodshatzer, Wallace, Spoon &
Yip began in 1988 with the four founding partners: Dr. Arthur Brodshatzer,
Robert Wallace, Roberta Spoon, and Tony Yip. In 1997 Robert Taylor joined
the firm as a litigation services partner and Wayne Mushet joined the
firm as the Tax Services Partner. Vickie Wolf became a partner in 2004.
In addition, the firm was recently honored as a "family-friendly" company
by the Work & Family Coalition of San Diego. As the best by size (less
than 50 employees), the firm was noted for its flexible benefits, attention
to wellness, career management, and work-time options. The team at BWSY, lead by Roberta Spoon, participated in a nation wide effort by the Association of Trial Lawyers of America to resolve the claims of over 1700 families that were victims of the World Trade Center disaster on September 11, 2001. Ms. Spoon formed a volunteer group of economists in Southern California and assisted 35 individual families in preparation of their claims for the Victim Compensation Fund. The firm of BWSY donated over 500 hours of professional time or approximately $80,000 to the victims families.
