Robert A. Taylor, CPA / ABV

Robert A. Taylor joined as a partner of the firm in January, 1997. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant who brings an extensive background of accounting, auditing, consulting and finance experience to his work in litigation support services.

A cum laude graduate from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where he received his bachelor's degree in Accounting, Mr. Taylor also received a master's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from San Diego State University.

Mr. Taylor specializes in providing commercial litigation services, including business valuation and damage analysis. He has been retained on and provided deposition and trial testimony on numerous matters, including business valuation and lost profit claims, shareholder disputes/corporate dissolution matters and trade secret, breach of contract and construction defect and delay issues, among others. He has co-authored a case study on the valuation of a company "going public" and he has co-authored a research paper on international economics.

His accounting background includes controllership experience. As controller, he was responsible for development of business plans and projections, financial statements, analysis and implementation of cost control procedures and operational review for businesses that contracted for management services. Additionally, he has performed valuation, feasibility analysis and due diligence services related to business operational changes and acquisitions/sale transactions.

Business valuation and damage analysis for businesses in various stages of development are additional areas of expertise developed by Mr. Taylor. He has testified in both depositions and in court and his litigation support services have also included preparation of damage calculations, incremental cost analyses and business projections. He has co-authored a case study which is used in the master's program at San Diego State University and he has co-authored a research paper on international economics.

Additionally, Mr. Taylor lectures in the graduate program at San Diego State University's School of Business. He has taught various finance and accounting courses and seminars in accounting at University of California, San Diego, Extension Program and in finance at San Diego State University.

Mr. Taylor is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Construction Financial Management Association, and the Institute of Business Appraisers.
