Tony Yip is a founding partner of Brodshatzer, Wallace, Spoon & Yip, and a Certified Public Accountant. While his auditing, accounting and business operations background is extensive, Mr. Yip also has expertise in various aspects of business appraisal and dispute resolution.

He earned a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of San Diego and graduated summa cum laude from San Diego State University with a bachelor of science degree in Accounting.

Since beginning his career in public accounting in 1980, Mr. Yip has provided accounting, auditing and consulting services to San Diego businesses in the manufacturing, construction, wholesale, retail, health care, real estate development and construction, hotel, restaurant, and various service-oriented industries. In addition, he has been appointed to advise the court on accounting matters.

The strong business sense he has acquired from owning and managing a small business, consulting with clients on operational problems and serving as a court-appointed trustee on bankruptcy matters also adds to the depth of experience he brings to the firm and its clients.

His understanding of the nature of closely held businesses and professional practices has also enabled him to develop an expertise in valuation and business appraisal services for various purposes such as: pending purchase and sale transactions, gift and estate tax matters, ESOP valuations, partnership and corporate dissolutions, condemnation, marital dissolutions, and general business litigation.

He has served as an expert witness or consultant in a variety of cases involving, among others, real estate, patent infringement, antitrust, securities fraud, breach of contract, business losses, business valuation, personal injury, wrongful death, wrongful termination, and accounting matters.

Mr. Yip has taught various continuing education courses for law firms and the University of California, San Diego Extension Program on topics regarding business valuations, understanding of financial statements and economic damage analysis.

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, the National Association of Business Economists, the Institute of Business Appraisers and the Asian Business Association.
